Hate to say it, but will never buy new from GM again

As most of you know my DD is a 2012 Regal GS. I purchased it 2-3-12. It was the first one in Kansas City. The night I bought it I traded my 2011 Sierra Denali that I had owned for 8 months (also purchased new). About 12k miles into ownership the brakes started to make noise. I took it to my selling dealer for the noise and high amounts of brake dust. They told me that there was a TSB on this concern, and that the Brembo brakes were "race" pads and they would be a little more noisy and would produce more dust than normal pads. They inspected the pad thickness themselves, and were like new. I was advised against the replacement TSB pads, because they were inferior product to the OEM pads and stopping distance would be diminished. I took their advice. At 20k miles I took it to a closer dealer to my home to have the Summer-only tires replaced with Continental DWS tires. At that point the car was looked over and nothing wear wise was noted. Now at 24k miles the brakes are gone. No signs of abuse to vehicle (hot spots on pads, irregular wear, warped or cracked rotors). I asked both dealers for assistance in replacement cost, citing the TSB and the fact that I had had prior complaints. At this point it was a few days over 1 year old. I received no help or offer to escalate to a zone rep, or anything. At that point I emailed Buick thinking I would get some corporate assistance. Being an advisor for FOMOCO, I know that there is assistance money for backing good customers. When I spoke to the representative on the phone (over 4-5 calls) I explained that I was a 9 year factory trained GM technician from 2000-2009, there was no signs of abuse to vehicle, no mods, and that I drove my new GM vehicle to Ford every day and they said they would look into it. They called back and both dealers corroborated my story, and they still decided I was not coverable in any fashion. This car (which I love, and have never bashed the quality of) has already had a turbo replaced (leaking oil), projector headlight assy, tires, front brakes, and now has a headliner on order (cut too short) and right front seat bottom (defect in material) all before 25k miles. No offer of trade assistance, nothing. When I told them I would never purchase again they said sorry to hear that. All over a cheap (in more ways that one) set of front brake pads. So I get to pay $349.00 for a set of brake pads that last a year. Joy. I should have been an a$$**** customer like I get to deal with and demanded they be replaced instead of courteous and respectful like I was taught. This car was supposed to save money since it is fuel economical, but in maintenance with 60 oil changes and tires, and brakes so frequent I would have been money ahead to keep the Denali. Sad thing is, it isn't about the money, I do well where I am, its the fact that a company who got a hand up from the government can't pass on the help to others who deserve it. I will not buy new from GM again. Thanks for letting me share.

That's a shit deal. Nice guys finish last. You look back now and wish you would have told them to shove the car up their ass. It's sucks like those who give them a bad rap. I've never drove anything but gm and I don't want too. But if that happened to me I might do the same. Similar deal happened to my buddies dad all over a windshield in his 91 ZR1 vett. Less than 3k miles windshield started to have little bubbles at the top they wouldn't replace it. It was gonna be a collector car. He told tell ill never buy another vehicle. He has bought ford ever since. And a lot of them lol. They said the same thing sorry to hear you say that. Bastards!

Sorry to hear this, I hope things take a turn for the bettter and soon.

I am lucky where my family has been going to the GM dealership for over 60 years. You think they would take care of their own who have worked for them (in ways they wouldn't help a normal customer), but I remember one member who use to be on the site and got screwed by Chevy when GM went downhill.

On a different note, I hope your truck is doing well and getting ready to make some great runs! :chevy:

Bad thing is the dealer I took it to second was the place I worked at for 9 years, and they said it would be "no problem" until I actually got it there...then the story changed.
